Cameron Instruments Inc., Guelph, ON is proud to announce we have received our A2LA Accreditation for our laboratory in accordance with ISO 17025:2005.  As a result, Cameron Instruments is now an A2LA Accredited laboratory for pressure.  ISO Accredited 17025 calibrations are clearly identified and provide the consumer a level of competence that is earned, regulated, and traceable.  The road to this level of competence requires many skill sets, resources and a considerable amount of time and consulting.  For customers’ of it now opens the door to a level of pressure calibrations that may have been hard to find or limited within Canada or simply offer another accredited alternative.”

Cameron Instruments benefited from working with two of our principal suppliers – Fluke Calibration and Ametek Crystal – as well as outside consulting services during the process.  All parties have provided direction with document protocols, uncertainty calculators and pointing the way during the journey towards accreditation.

However, achieving accreditation is only the beginning and the benchmark has to be maintained.  The reason is twofold; one it assures the customers that a level of confidence is up to date, and two, the supplier is compliant with ISO/IEC 17025 as determined by an Accrediting body such as A2LA.

In our case, even though we have only been A2LA accredited for a short while, we are already partaking in an inter-laboratory comparison (ILC) with Measurement Canada and Fluke.  Continuing ILC’s are part and parcel of accrediting bodies’ expectations.  Along with continuing, repeatability tests, updating records and procedures, these are all ongoing measurement and document requirements for maintaining accreditation.  At the end of the day, it all adds up as a benefit to the customer.

We look forward to working with our customers and continuing to provide the top notch service and support they have come to rely on.
