Gas Flow Standards – Molbloc/Molbox
Fluke Calibration offers molbloc/molbox gas flow calibration systems to calibrate flow meters and controllers over a very wide range of flows. The systems are fast, precise and transportable and can be fully automated using COMPASS for Flow software. molblocs, which are the heart of the measurement system, are mechanically stable, gravimetrically calibrated laminar flow and sonic nozzle elements.
Laminar flow elements for flow from 1 sccm to 100 slm – molbloc-Ls are laminar flow elements for use with molbox mass flow terminals. The molbloc flow path is the longitudinal, annular gap between a piston and a close fitting cylindrical bore in the molbloc body. Different molbloc ranges are obtained by varying the size of the gap. For high flow ranges (size 1E4 and above), a larger molbloc body with a larger cylindrical bore is used.
Sonic nozzle based molblocs for gas flow up to 5,000 slm – molbloc-S Sonic Nozzle Flow Element is a high precision transfer standard intended for calibrating other transfer standards or process flow meters and controllers. This sonic nozzle calibration device is used with molbox1+ or molbox RFM terminals to extend the range of the molbloc/molbox calibration systems and deliver superior accuracy at medium and high flows. Existing molbox1 terminals with version 4.0 embedded software or later and all molbox1+ terminals can be used with molbloc-S.
The new molbox1+ flow terminal from Fluke Calibration represents a significant update to the molbloc/molbox gas flow calibration system. molbox1+ combined with molbloc-L (to 100 slm) and molbloc-S (to 5000 slm) flow elements enables you to achieve the lowest uncertainty available for gas flow meter calibration and controller calibrations. A special configuration, molbox 1+S, allows you to use molboc-S sonic nozzle flow elements at higher pressures than were previously possible, greatly extending their usable flow range.
